A delegation of MEPs in Singapore complain that they have been prevented from speaking at a meeting on the subject of democracy. The government there objected. Read about it here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/6553319.stm

I note that the Singaporean interior ministry said that “Singapore’s politics are reserved for Singaporeans.” There is evidently a lack of joined-up government on that island, as the Singaporean foreign ministry in March 2003 and later never felt that Iraqi politics was reserved for Iraqis.

But maybe I’m just cynical.
