2.00 – 5.30 pm followed by a drinks reception

In conjunction with the Global Policy Institute and co-funded by the European Commssion Representation in the UK, we are launching a new series of conferences :  The Coalition’s European Policy after the honeymoon.

The objective of these conferences is to review the European policy of the Coalition in its second year, examining in particular the growing internal and external strains upon the compromises which have until now underpinned its actions within the European Union.

This first conference, The UK and the European Budget, looks at these strains in a financial context.  To discuss the subject we have assembled a distinguished panel:

Professor Iain Begg, London School of Economics, Federal Trust Council

Lord Harrison, Chairman of the House of Lords EU Sub-Committee A – Economic and Financial Affairs, and International Trade

Vasco Cal, Economic Adviser in the Bureau of European Policy Advisers of the European Commission (BEPA)

4.00 pm     Second session:  ‘Where We Want to Be’
